One of the pioneer officers for The Salvation Army’s work in Russia, Major Cindy Shellenberger spent a dozen or so years living overseas as a missionary officer in Russia and the Ukraine. She returned to the U.S. where she was in charge of the Racine, Wis., Corps for four years. Cindy served for many years as the corps officer of the Norwood Corps in the Australia Southern Territory. She recently moved to Craigmore where she is the corps officer of the Playford Corps.
Cindy believes every U.S. officer should spend some time overseas to learn that other countries have developed other, sometimes better, ways of doing things, and to develop a greater appreciation for the advantages we have in the United States of America.
