Majors Cornell and Candace Voeller
Regional and Assistant Regional Officers
Hungary Region, Switzerland, Austria, and Hungary Territory
Majors Cornell and Candace live in the beautiful city of Budapest. The Salvation Army in Hungary has six corps, two outposts, and five social work institutions. The outposts are in small Roma villages and are vibrant places of worship. Specialized ministries include Rahab – outreach to victims of human trafficking – and continued emergency support in the areas of Ukraine close to the Hungarian border. The social institutions provide daily meals, day centers for homeless, emergency lodging, rehabilitation programs, and shelters for men, women, and women with children. The Voellers continue to learn the Hungarian culture, foods, language and are blessed to serve with the officers, soldiers, and employees of The Salvation Army in Hungary.
The Voellers have had several corps officer appointments across the Central Territory as well as divisional appointments as Youth Secretaries, Business Secretary, and Program Secretary. They have also served as corps officers in Stockholm, Sweden. They enjoy travel, thrifting, and theatre. They have four fabulous sons, three fantastic daughters-in-law, and two wonderful granddaughters. Time spent with family is always cherished.
